Star Tech marks 20 years in business

Date:

A Dorset independent car specialist is marking two decades in business, underlining the durability of the region’s high-end servicing sector. Star Tech, founded in 2006, has grown into an established service centre for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar, MINI and Smart vehicles, positioning itself as an alternative to main dealer servicing. Managing Director Matt Peacock, who began his career as a vehicle technician, set up the business with a focus on combining technical expertise with a personal approach to customer service.

The company continuously invested in diagnostic equipment, training and specialist capability. In 2025, it expanded into electric and hybrid servicing with the launch of Star Tech EV, reflecting wider changes in the automotive market.
The business has maintained a consistent workforce culture, retaining what it describes as a family feel despite a larger team and customer base.
Matt says: ‘From day one, it was about creating a place where customers felt valued, where honesty came as standard and quality workmanship was a given. That hasn’t changed.’
With demand for specialist servicing growing, the business expects continued growth across both conventional and electric vehicles.
