Sketching workshops move indoors for winter

Date:

A love of drawing Dorset’s streets has grown into a new winter Sketch Club in Wimborne, offering artists of all abilities a chance to develop their skills without having to brave the weather. Graphic designer and artist Shaun Forward began running small outdoor sketching workshops in 2025, after retirement gave him more time to return to fine art and painting. Now the same approach is moving indoors for the colder months. The new Sketch Club will meet fortnightly at the Kings Head Hotel in Wimborne, with two-hour sessions exploring core sketching skills through a series of structured themes.

The classes are intended for all abilities, with coaching and basic materials provided, and can be booked individually rather than as a full course.
Sketch Club runs fortnightly on Tuesdays from 17th November to 23rd March, priced at £20 per session. The outdoor workshops return in April, with plans to expand into more of Dorset during 2027.
