‘Immensely talented singers with really exciting careers ahead of them,’ is how Hurn Court Opera’s Musical Director Lynton Atkinson describes the two young performers coming to Merley House, Wimborne, on 27th September.
Tenor Quito Clothier and countertenor Will Prior were both prizewinners in Dorset-based Hurn Court Opera’s 2025 Singer of the Year Competition, and return for the charity’s annual autumn recital.
Clothier, winner of the Sarah Harrison Prize, recently covered Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at the Grange Festival and was named one of the Edinburgh International Festival’s 2026 Rising Stars of Voice. Prior won both the Audience Prize and second prize in Hurn Court Opera’s competition. A recent Royal College of Music graduate, he joined Garsington Opera this summer as an Alvarez Emerging Artist and has performed the title role in Rinaldo at the Grimeborn Opera Festival.
The pair will be accompanied by pianist Matthew Clemmet.
