Artists, makers and craftspeople will once again open their homes, studios and community spaces when the Child Okeford Art Trail returns from 28th to 31st August.
Now in its sixth year, the four-day event brings together 23 exhibitors across the village, giving visitors the chance to explore at their own pace while discovering paintings, prints, pottery, jewellery, photography and other handmade work.
Among those joining the trail for the first time are watercolour artist Barry Hulme, whose landscapes and interiors have earned national recognition, and Holly Berlyn, whose detailed pointillist drawings of wildlife and botanicals are created entirely from fine ink dots.
The Village Hall will host a group exhibition featuring several artists, while local charity SERO will serve refreshments in aid of Julia’s House Children’s Hospice. Artist Julie Little will also be donating proceeds from sales of her paintings to the charity.
One of the trail’s attractions is the chance to meet artists in their own creative spaces, gaining an insight into the ideas and techniques behind their work. It also provides an enjoyable way to explore the village itself, with venues spread throughout Child Okeford and refreshments available in the Village Hall.
Entry is free, with venues open daily from 11am to 4pm. Details are available via the Child Okeford Art Trail’s Facebook and Instagram.
