Wimborne Food Festival returns on Saturday 19th September, with live cookery, tastings, music and a community chocolate cake competition among the day’s highlights.
At the Festival Food Theatre on Willow Walk, local restaurateur Cristina Cavalleri will bring the flavours of her native Sardinia to the stage, demonstrating how to make a classic tomato sauce and sharing her family recipe for amaretti biscuits. She will be joined by pastry chef Sarah Read, who has worked with Cristina for more than a decade.
Later in the day, attention turns from watching to baking. The festival’s Great Big Choc Bake Off invites adults and young bakers to enter their best chocolate cake, with judging by former Great British Bake Off contestant Maggie Richardson and Dorset chef Colin Nash. Once the winners are chosen, slices will be sold to raise money for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care and Waggy Tails Rescue.
Across the town there will also be free tastings, pop-up food events, live music and alfresco street activities between 10am and 4pm.
