For the past 10 years Richard has spent part of each year working on the Atlantic coast. Living in his converted van enabled him to produce the work directly in the landscape and follow a purely intuitive, unstructured journey entirely dictated by the needs of the paintings.

The body of work presented in this talk stems from these recent working journeys from West Ireland to the northern tip of Orkney. An immersive evening conveying the experience of the life behind making the work, including a recital of a cycle of poems that were written on the journey alongside the paintings.
