Baroque Classics at Wimborne Minster
7 November at 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Bournemouth Bach Choir brings its autumn concert to Wimborne Minster on Saturday 7 November at 7.30pm. Under the direction of Tim Hooper and supported by the Bournemouth Sinfonia, the choir will sing Handel’s Dixit Dominus, a forerunner to his famous Messiah, Bach’s Cantata Wachet Auf and motet, Lobet Den Herrn. Popular items from Classic FM’s Hall of Fame feature too with performances of Albinoni’s Adagio, Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and Pachelbel’s Canon.
Bournemouth Bach Choir soprano Deidre Ashton will be on home ground at Wimborne. The former Minster church warden and lay worship leader has sung in several different ensembles there over the last 20 years. She said:
“When singing from the stage, the view down the aisle to the large west facing stained glass windows and the adjacent illuminated arches creates a very special atmosphere.”
