One of Britain’s leading young vocal ensembles will launch the new Music at St Peter’s concert season when Siglo de Oro performs at St Peter’s Church, Dorchester, on 4th September.

Conducted by Patrick Allies, the London-based ensemble has built an international reputation through performances across the UK, Europe and North America, alongside a recent residency at London’s Wigmore Hall.
For its Dorchester concert, the group will present Stargazing, a programme which explores music inspired by the night sky, bringing together works spanning several centuries, including compositions by James MacMillan, Shruthi Rajasekar, John Taverner and Claudio Monteverdi.
The performance opens a busy autumn programme at St Peter’s, which continues with a candlelit recital of Bach’s Goldberg Variations by Royal College of Music harpsichord scholar Markus Sandler in November, before the Choir and Orchestra of Music at St Peter’s perform Handel’s Messiah in December.
The concert begins at 7pm. Tickets cost £20 and are available through the Music at St Peter’s website, where the full autumn programme can also be found.
