Milton Abbey students celebrate strong GCSE, A Level and BTEC results

Date:

Students at Milton Abbey School are celebrating their 2026 GCSE, A Level and BTEC results, with the school reporting an increase in top grades across both academic and vocational qualifications.

This year’s A Level and BTEC leavers achieved an increase in A* to C grades at A Level compared with last year, alongside a rise in Distinction* to Merit grades in BTEC qualifications.

At GCSE level, the school highlighted particularly strong results in English, Creative Media, Music and Hospitality, while stressing the importance of individual progress and students achieving the grades needed for their chosen next steps.

Milton Abbey offers technical and vocational qualifications alongside more traditional academic subjects, an approach reflected in the range of destinations chosen by this year’s leavers.

Students will progress to universities including Durham, Southampton and Cardiff, alongside specialist institutions including the Royal Agricultural University and Arts University Bournemouth.

Others are heading overseas to Les Roches and Glion, both of which specialise in hospitality education. The breadth of courses chosen is equally varied, ranging from Economics and Marine Biology to Animation, Viticulture and Oenology.

For some pupils, the next step will be an apprenticeship or volunteering rather than university, while a number of this year’s Fifth Form students will remain at Milton Abbey to continue into Sixth Form.

The school said the results reflected both the work of individual students and the support provided by teaching staff throughout their courses.

Milton Abbey said: ‘We congratulate all our students and wish them every success in the next chapter of their lives, whether that means joining us for Sixth Form, progressing to university, embarking on an apprenticeship, or pursuing volunteering opportunities.’
