This year’s Gillingham Walking Festival will be taking place from 29 August to 5 September, to be launched by the Gillingham Town Mayor, Councillor Donna Toyne, at the Town Meadow on 29 August at 9.30 am.

The Gillingham Walking Festival provides a week of guided walks of varying length in the local area that are open to all and are free to everyone.  The walks promote physical and mental health in a relaxed and non-judgement environment. The event is organised under the national Walkers are Welcome initiative, which is a non-profit Community Interest Company.  The organisers and walk leaders are volunteers who give their time freely.  More details can be found on the Gillingham Walkers are Welcome website here: Gillingham Walkers are Welcome – Walking Festival
