Wimborne Community Theatre is taking over the grounds of Kingston Lacy this September for a new outdoor production exploring ideas of home, identity and belonging.
Belonging: Our Search for Home runs from 22nd to 27th September and forms part of Wimborne Town of Culture 2026. The production has been created with support from Wimborne Town of Culture, Arts Council England, local councils and the National Trust. Audiences will move through the Kingston Lacy landscape as stories from Wimborne’s past and present are woven together in a promenade performance.
The production also marks 35 years of Wimborne Community Theatre, which has built a reputation for creating original work in unusual settings including historic buildings, riversides and woodland.
Guest director Rohan Gotobed said the play had been developed over the past year and would combine ‘secrets, stories and songs’ while asking audiences to reconsider what home means to them.
The evening begins with an interactive pre-show fair at 6.30pm, before the main performance starts at 7pm.
