Peter Booton tells how Allington Court in Bridport was brought back to life

IF YOU are planning to restore an old building while being sympathetic to its original character, be prepared for a task that is neither easy nor inexpensive. This is particularly so if the property enjoys listed status or if, as in all too many cases, inconsiderate alterations inflicted upon a structure over a period of time have resulted in the loss of irreplaceable period features…
