MY sanity and possibly my life were saved by Dorset’s beautiful countryside. Although I am a Londoner, at heart I have always been a countryman, and in particular a lover of Dorset. All my holidays as a child and young adult were spent in the county. Usually they were in west Dorset, where we would spend happy days at West Bay or walking over Golden Cap and Thorncombe Beacon, but we would also make trips to places like Corfe Castle, Arne and Weymouth.
