THE lighthouse stands in Durlston Country Park, the 320-acre nature reserve to the south of Swanage which has been owned by Dorset Council for the last fifty years. It is a walk of about half a mile from the car park at Durlston Castle, either along a tarmac lane or via a rather more challenging cliff path.
