Wimborne’s special relationship
Star attractions at Dean’s Court, Wimborne, are the 100ft-high American tulip and bald cypress trees. They are believed to have been planted by explorer Thomas Hanham, ancestor of the present Dean’s Court Hanhams, after a 1607 expedition to study North American flora and fauna. The bald or swamp cypress is believed to be the second tallest in the UK with the widest girth (26ft).
