Ring out, wild bells
The bells of Christmas will be ringing out from Wimborne Minster again this month. Trevor Prince has been behind the scenes.

THE medieval west tower of Wimborne Minster, with its thick stone walls, could hardly look more solid and immovable. Yet when the ringing of its bells is in full flight, it actually shakes. The floor moves. A lot – or so it seemed to me when I was a visitor to the ringing chamber while the changes were rung to celebrate a wedding on a bright autumn afternoon.
