‘BUT you’ll want to come and see it, won’t you?’ asked the man on the phone, who had put an advertisement in a local paper to sell a second-hand lathe.
‘There wouldn’t be much point,’ replied Peter Thomas cheerfully. ‘I wouldn’t know what I was looking at.’
That was over twenty years ago and marked the start of a consuming interest, a profitable business and a succession of beautiful objects created exclusively …
