Wareham Quay

WAREHAM Quay is a honeypot for land-bound visitors and a popular destination for sailors and excursion boats that make their way up the River Frome from Poole Harbour. In medieval times and earlier, Wareham was the premier port on the harbour, but in the 14th century it started to silt up and Poole was growing in both size and importance. Grain (hence the Old Granary) and ball clay continued to be shipped from the Quay until the middle of the 19th century…
