How to get there: From the A357, cross over the bridge, head up the hill and into the town. The pub is on your right-hand side.
Refreshments: Three pubs are in Sturminster Newton, the Swan, the White Hart and the Bull. There are also a number of cafés.
ON LEAVING the pub, turn right and cross over the road. Take the next left-hand turn, opposite the pedestrian street, and follow it down to the end. Walk through the old kissing gate and make your way down the hill, through the woods to the River Stour.
