Brian Cormack talks to Richard Murgatroyd about his love of photographing the Isle of Purbeck

Richard’s favourite photo to date is this one of Corfe Castle in the mist with the filtered sky above. He has set himself the task of one day capturing the castle’s shadow on the mist.
AS DUMB questions go, asking a gifted photographer such as Richard Murgatroyd why he chooses to specialise in photographing Purbeck’s landscape is at best superfluous. His reply is justifiably emphatic: ‘Well, just look at it, we’re so lucky to live in a truly beautiful part of the world. To have so many wonderful sights right on our doorstep is amazing.’ And he’s right: the Isle of Purbeck and its immediate surroundings are blessed…
